[texts]Physics Experiment 1, Longitudinal Disturbance - Patrick Bruskiewich
There are very few introductory physics experiments that allow the study of longitudinal waves or disturbances. In this experiment the velocity of a disturbance along a row of toppling dominoes will be studied as a function of the spacing between the dominoes. The concept of scaling and characteristic curves will be used to find an expression for the velocity of a row of toppling dominoes as a function of the spacing.
